In spite of the athletic success GCAPP has maintained, the difficulties involved in keeping young athletes committed to the program and supporting them are huge. Many leave because of job-related impediments, family issues, frustrations from lack of necessary travel support to take part in competitions or even stop progressing for lack of proper nutrition. GCA is barely self-sustainable and does not generate enough revenues to cover these needs.

We are therefore seeking corporate and governmental support and sponsorship. Cooperative research projects with public institutions are being developed to generate knowledge that may help to design public policies in sports, in nutrition and on physical activity, as well as programs for the youth.

From corporations, we are hoping to obtain support within the following items:

-         food

-         sports nutritional supplements, particularly protein powders

-         sports equipment, both for training and competition

-         travel support

-         funding for publications and other educational initiatives

-         support for health-care, laboratory tests, check-ups and medical treatment

-         clothing
